Frequently Asked Questions:

What kind of trees will we plant? – We plant mostly 15 gallon container trees; anything bigger is too large for volunteers to handle. We plant native and urban hardy species for shade, flowers or fruit that are appropriate for the site and the resident’s preferences.

When will the planting take place? – Our planting season is October – March. Most NeighborWoods plantings will be on Saturday mornings during the planting season.

What costs are involved? - TreesGreenville funds plantings in affordable housing communities through grants and donations. There is no cost to residents in affordable housing communities. Residents in middle to high income communities will make a minimum donation to cover the cost of plant material. The amount of the minimum donation will be set by TreesGreenville and the neighborhood coordinator. All residents are responsible for watering their trees.
